OMG Have any of you seen that new Mario Movie yet???

IT'S SO CUTE RRRRRRRAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

And oh man-- the nostalgia!!!!! This was one of my favorite childhood game series!!!

The local pizza place in my hometown had the original Mario arcade machine, which I used to play anytime we went there for birthdays and would spend all of my Mom's quarters on (lol). Then, when I received my first DS, my older sister would always be sure to get me the new Mario games, and when I switched to a 3ds, it was red, with a golden mario on it!! My favorite game was the Mario one I recieved for it-- I remember leaving it shut so it would save my progress on the final bowser fight because it was 3 am at that point and I had to stop playing, haha! I used to bring it to school with me, too (it's how I lost the stylus lol). Anyways-- this is all to say that the series is very dear to my heart. I'm going to be honest, I despise illumination as an animation company, so when I tell you I was pissed that my beloved childhood game was getting a movie from THEM? Ohh boy, I was mad. *Especially* when they announced the voice actors (Charles, you deserved better, my friend)

But, you know... it really exceeded my expectations! The animation was stunning, the voice work from Luigi and Bowser's VA's were so well done (the rest of the cast... hm. Not very impressed), and it was such a sweet story! The amount of references to the games had me grinning ear-to-ear in the theatre! Yeah, yeah, there's problems, but honestly? I don't care. A very fun movie for one of my favorite game series came out, and I am so so happy for this franchise. Not to mention all the fanart that has come out since the movie! I adore seeing it all!!!!! Ough, I'm gonna cry all over again thinking about this...

Anywho-- it's a very fun movie with some great sibling bonding (THEIR RELATIONSHIP MAKES ME SO SOFT!!!!!!!!!!!) and makes me so happy! I plan on rewatching it as soon as I'm able!
